35' Bayliner flybridge yacht cruiser new engines and electronics

in Bremerton, WA

$7,499

Seller note:

In 1973 this boat was Bayliner's flagship model, and the very first real yacht they ever produced. It is far higher quality than any other bayliner as the Hull is from Hatteras yacht company designs. A true Hatteras is worth 3 times as much as an equivalent bayliner. see video on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=os_4CaM4sR8 $50,000 dollars worth of recent work in just the past few years (complete list to follow), however this boat is still a cosmetic project and also has lots of little minor wiring gremlins to sort out. Even with all that said, this boat is currently the best deal on craigslist in Seattle or Portland. The closest near equivalents i've seen are over 13k and the closest actual equivalents are 17k plus. This Bayliner Montego is huge for a 35' boat and is built like a tank. The dry weight is over 12.5 thousand pounds and the beam is 12.5 ft. It has almost no structural wood to rot as its all solid handlaid fiberglass. Almost every mechanical component on the boat has been changed....but little has been done to cosmetics. However, the boat could be cosmetically restored for less money than was spent on just a few of the parts (the alternators alone were over a grand for the pair.) This boat is an ideal liveaboard as the main salon is Above deck where the helm is and thus everyone can sit in the big spaciious salon with the driver while underway. This is because the flybridge is rather huge resulting in one big cabin with 360 degree views through huge windows. The boat was boathouse kept from [removed phone] and still can buff up new. ALL new parts are marine grade and super expensive. -both chrysler marine 318 engines are rebuilt and have less than 50 hrs -both v-drive transmissions are tuned with new fluids and some seals 50hrs (these transmissions alone are worth my price as they sell used for 5k---these are v-drives and not simple velvet drives....most desirable transmission and is way more durable than outdrives. -new alternators (2x375 dollars for marine grade.) 2 brand new marine carbs (2x450) -new starters 2x300 new electronic ignition new raw water pumps new potable water pump new toilet new plugs and wires new oil changes and filters new dual racors new gps/fishfinder/sonar new deep cycle batteries (all four) with new batter boxes newer stainless hot water heater new flooring in salon New Mallory racing distributor marine grade-500 new 12v fridge and microwave partial new interior (needs finishing) new manifolds and risors all new zincs new rebuilt bulkhead (using 3/4 marine grade plywood for stout structure.) new tabs newer bronze proppelors (2k) new 300' anchor line new vhf and antena new microwave oven new trim motors new coils new fuel lines and water hoses livingston 10' dinghy with 2 outboard engines (2k) red dot heater boat is 34' with a 12..5 foot wide beam, cruises 20 and tops speed is 25. burns 12-15 gph fuel sleeps six, giant 120 gallon fresh water tank 2x110 gallon fuel tanks for 200 plus mile range new high capacity bilge pumps windlass for anchor Boat condition. New Zincs, but bottom paint is old and needs to be done (should be done every other year.), lots of wiring gremlins to short out...including one that drains the batteries of port engine, Both engines fully rebuilt but port engine runs a bit too warm...possibly needs heat exchanger hot tanked. the seats iin the flybridge need recovering, some windows have seeped water onto interior panneling (which is cheap anyway and could use repleacement.)
